What does the Sydney Opera House have to do with oranges?

Did you know that the Sydney Opera House, in Australia, is inspired by an orange orange?

According to Danish architect Jørn Utzon, the idea for this famous building came when he peeled an orange and opened its segments. When he saw the peel with its tips and twists, he knew he wanted to create a building from this shape. In 2007 the Sydney Opera House was declared a World Heritage Site.

Here are some photos. If you have the opportunity to see it, do not hesitate, it is worth the long trip.
