Orange, oat and chocolate biscuits — easy recipe without refined sugar
Biscuits ready in 25 minutes. Wholemeal flour, oats and the juice of half a Valencia orange. No refined sugar — sweetened with agave syrup or honey. And chocolate chips, because virtue has its limits.
Ingredients (about 15 biscuits)
— 100 g wholemeal spelt flour
— 100 g rolled oats
— Half a sachet of baking powder
— A pinch of salt
— Zest and juice of half an orange
— 4 tbsp agave syrup (or honey)
— 4 tbsp olive oil
— 70 g chocolate chips
Method
1. Mix flour, oats, baking powder, salt and zest in a bowl.
2. Make a well. Add juice, syrup and oil. Mix until sticky and uniform.
3. Fold in chocolate chips.
4. With damp hands, form walnut-sized balls. Place on baking paper and flatten gently.
5. Bake at 210 °C for 10-15 minutes until golden.
Cool on a rack. Keeps 5-6 days in an airtight tin.
