
Hot drinks with oranges — 3 recipes for winter
When the cold sets in, few things comfort like a hot drink with the scent of orange and cinnamon. Not bag infusions with flavouring — preparations with fresh Valencia oranges and real spices.
1. Glühwein — mulled wine with oranges
One litre of red wine, one orange sliced with peel, cinnamon, star anise, cloves, 50 g sugar and vanilla. Mix, bring briefly to a boil, strain and serve hot. Non-alcoholic: replace wine with grape juice.
2. Russian spiced tea with orange
3 tsp black tea, some orange zest, cloves, cinnamon, 3 tbsp honey and juice of half a lemon. Infuse 10 minutes. Strain, add honey and lemon.
3. Orange, cinnamon and ginger infusion
Juice of one orange, grated ginger, water and cinnamon. Boil water with ginger and cinnamon. Off heat, add orange juice. Sweeten with orange blossom honey.
