Le Cube Orange - Orange architecture

As every Sunday, we present you with a work of art, in this case an architectural project that seems to be inspired by a orangebut it is not.

This impressive cube is located in the old port area of Lyon. It is an emblematic building developed by the French architects of Jakob + Macarlane Architects that has an area of 6,300 m2 and 5 floors.

The exterior facade is a metal skin with openings, inspired by water bubbles. A giant hole is carved into the cube to cover the needs of light and air movement. The color orange refers to the industrial paint so prevalent in this area. The visual effect of this architectural ensemble is water in motion. In this link you can find more information about this unusual building.
