Chocolate sponge cake with candied orange and sesame seeds

Ingredients for 10 chocolate sponge cakes with candied oranges

  • 120 gr flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 gr sugar
  • 100 gr butter
  • 30 ml milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 70 gr 70% dark chocolate
  • 80 gr candied oranges
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened pure cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 180º.
  • Grease and flour the mini cakes or muffins molds.
  • Chop the candied orange and set aside.
  • Put the diced butter and the chopped dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, heat on defrost function in short batches and stir until completely melted, set aside.
  • In a large bowl put the eggs with the sugar and beat with the help of an electric whisk until they have doubled in volume and are foamy.
  • Add the milk, the cocoa powder, the butter and dark chocolate mixture, the flour, the chopped candied oranges and the sesame seeds and beat again.
  • Finally add the baking powder and mix carefully.
  • Distribute the dough in the molds 3/4 of its capacity and bake for 25 to 30 minutes at 180º. Before removing them, check with a toothpick that they are cooked.
  • Let them cool slightly in the molds, unmold and let them cool completely on a wire rack. The biscuits are ready, now let's enjoy!
