As you know in citrusricus.com we are all fans of the orange and Julia's sponge cake not only has a little bit of orange juice orange juice but it also looks (and tastes) chunky and on top comes an orange flavored glaze. If you not only like oranges but also chocolate, there is a way to prepare the cake with both.
What do we need?
- 250 grams of sugar
- 3 eggs
- 100 gr. of sunflower oil or 100 gr. of butter at room temperature
- 1 Orange whole unpeeled orange juice.
- 1 natural yogurt or 130 gr. of cream.
- 250 gr. of flour
- 1 sachet of yeast
- A pinch of salt.
- 2 tablespoons of cocoa of your choice or 100 grs. of melting chocolate.
And we start with:
"Preheat the oven to 180º. Wash the orange and crush it as much as possible. In a bowl put the sugar, the orange and the eggs, beat everything well and add the oil or butter and the yogurt or cream, mix everything well and finally add the flour, yeast and salt, stir everything well again, until all the ingredients are well mixed.
Finally we grease a mold to our taste and sprinkle flour or we use a silicone mold. Pour the mixture, which should not be more than half full, and bake in the oven at 180º for about 30 minutes ...". The following steps you can see here.
