Vegan orange sponge cake
This recipe is very easy and quick but really delicious. It does not contain any animal products, so it is perfect for vegetarians and vegans. The juice and the peel of our oranges will give it a special flavor. We recommend this cake for breakfast or as a snack. Thanks to Aida from the blog beginveganbegun.es for her kind collaboration with this delicious recipe.
Vegan orange cake
Ingredients:
- 250 gr of flour for cooking without egg (for example Yolanda flour)
- 125 gr of sugar
- 250 ml soy milk
- 100 ml sunflower oil
- 1/2 sachet of yeast
- 2 tablespoons orange juice
- 1 tablespoon orange essence or orange powder
- Chocolate (dairy-free) for melting
Preparation:
First mix all the dry ingredients (flour, sugar and yeast), then add the milk and oil and stir well. Now add the orange juice and the orange essence or orange powder (if you don't have it or don't use it, you can add a little orange zest).
When we have everything well mixed, prepare the baking pan with a little oil and sprinkle breadcrumbs so that it does not stick. Once ready, we turn the dough and put it in the oven, which we will have preheated to about 180º.
After about 30 minutes, check that the cake is well done by plunging a little point of a knife or a wooden stick if you have one: if it comes out clean, it is done.
Now all that remains is to melt chocolate (amount to taste) and add it on top of the cake. It is now ready to serve.
